There was a time-bomb ticking in Evergreen Bookkeepers’ back room. The server was slowly moving toward a failure threatening thousands of lost hours of accounting work.
Customer Profile: Evergreen Bookkeepers is a full-service accounting firm with clients throughout Colorado and New Mexico and is dedicated to providing their clients with professional, personalized services and guidance in a wide range of financial and business needs. For 14 years, Evergreen Bookkeepers has been providing quality, personalized tax preparation and accounting services with expertise ranging from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as financial statements and business planning.
Business Situation: Evergreen Bookkeepers’ existing server was at the end of life, which had been maximized by Automation Concepts Company’s ongoing service program. Replacing the motherboard once previously, the server was now starting to show additional issues in that the RAID controller was showing errors which endangered the customer’s stored data. While backups were being monitored daily to make sure they could be used for recovery, it was time to move forward to a more reliable platform.
Solution: Replace the server and transition the customer’s business operations to new state of the art equipment featuring a current operating system and applications software.
End Result: A stable and available computing platform that has significantly reduced the risk of business loss while at the same time increased productivity, and provided peace of mind.
ACC has worked with Evergreen Bookkeepers for over 9 years maintaining and repairing their equipment and developing plans for the future of their IT systems. Part of the planning was upgrading the server platform with new hardware, migrating the existing data and maintaining a familiar environment for the end user so that productivity was maintained throughout the transition.
ACC took several steps to rescue the data from the failing drives, and was successful in maintaining and transitioning all data, including the Microsoft Exchange databases and file shares. Migration to the new platform took less than 24 hours, with the customer fully functional without significant impact to their business operations. Any outstanding minor issues were resolved in less than a week. ACC continues to support Evergreen Bookkeepers in their day to day operations, and is always striving to improve and maintain their information technology systems.
